About
Ron Thomas began taking photographs while in undergrad at Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia. With the mountains of Appalachia and the Smokey Mountains within driving distance, Ron planned to hike the Appalachian Trail. Ron's best friend majored in mass communications introduced Ron to his first film SLR camera to document his travels while hiking. Ron perfected his skill over the years moving from taking pictures to taking photographs.
Ron has photographed vistas along the Appalachian Trail, mountains in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico, the waters off the Florida Keys, street scenes in Miami Beach and New Orleans, the Swiss and French Alps, and Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. He has photographed sunsets in Zihuatanejo, Cozumel, Cancun, and off the coast of the Greek Isles in the Mediterranean. He has photographed the Mayan ruins of Copan in Honduras and the Arenal Volcano and surrounding rainforest in Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Independence street festival.
